high five for the homeless
Organized by: Rodney Legg
we are passionate about helping the homeless and everyone deserves a chance to succeed. The statistics for the homeless succeeding when finally getting homes and jobs is minimal.
Our plan is to find a vacant chunk of land easily accessable from the downtown homeless population and construct the mini eco homes for 1 person each. The plan is to start with 10 units and one counselor and multiple volunteer and we will design a 28 day maximum re-training to better succeed.
Each person will be evaluated to measure there growth as we re-introduce schedules, hygene, cooking, time management and build there self confidence.
on the property there will be a Animal Shelter (no kill) and seperate but located on the land will be Organic farming to be grown for nourishment and remainder sold at the open air markets.
Each person will be required to fulfill work duties at one location or both if they prefer. This will allow for social interaction and the slow development of those lost abilities with proceeds going towards the program.
It is truly a way to offer those in need a cnance to adapt and succeed as they enter there new home..
