Derek and I pledge to HIKE 40 trails to support American Hiking Society's environmental trail stewardship program, Volunteer Vacations.
For 40 years, Volunteer Vacations has fostered public land stewardship and provided volunteers, who donate their time, money, and energy, to help design build and maintain hiking trails throughout the country. In 2015, 540 volunteers participated in 62 stewardship projects. They contributed 21,600 volunteer hours, worth an estimated $498,312 in sweat equity.
We often hike free trails and see this fundraiser as an opportunity to give back for the awesome experiences we have had. Everytime we hike a free trail we will give a small amount. It will add up quick! We encourage you to find a free trail near you take a hike and donate a few dollars after you have had your fun :-)
