I served in the Army, 12 ½ years with 2 deployments to Iraq (03-04, 05-06). I am currently residing in Arizona and work as a Peer Support Specialist at Phoenix VA Community Resource and Referral Center. Transition is an ongoing process; with that said, the more treatment modalities we find, the more tools we have in our tool belt. When suicide has become an option for you, it will ALWAYS be an option, it’s what you do with the ideations that makes the difference. Using these tools are the primary components of resiliency.
I have a wife and 2 children that I enjoy hanging out with as well as going to the movie theater. I am one of the founders of Rally Point AZ in Phoenix, and the 22 For the 22 and I enjoy working with veterans toward a successful transition into society. I am walking because I am a survivor of two suicide attempts and have lost friends and comrades to suicide. Suicide is a PERMANENT solution to a TEMPORARY problem! We must work diligently to stop suicide, because it is completely preventable!
