I served in the U.S Army from 98-01 as a Specialist, with a deployment, 03/00-08/01 DMZ Korea. I currently reside in Arizona and I am now a Peer Support Specialist at the Phoenix VA Community Resource and Referral Center. My transition back to civilian life was a bit challenging for me especially because of the choices that I made in dealing with it. I have a wife in and two daughters, and I enjoy spending time with my family and going for motorcycle rides.
Aside from working for the VA I am also a full time student working towards a degree in Social Work.
I enjoy helping veterans that are dealing with some of the struggles that I have dealt with. I am walking because I have been down very dark lonely roads where suicide seemed to be the only option left for me. Fortunately, because of the services available to veterans I was able to gain the tools that I needed to make certain changes in my life. I am walking for my fellow comrades that weren’t able to find their way back home!
