Dog About Town NW's Fundraiser:

Hiking for Humane Education

Dog About Town's Photo

BENEFITING: Red Rover

Dog About Town NW

THE STORY:

Project: Bring an in-person RedRover Readers Professional Development Training to the Inland NW in 2017! Training and curriculm for 30 - 40 elementary teachers for 2017 school year. For more information about RedRover's Humane Education Program, go to www.redrover.org.

My dog Riley and I will be hiking throughout the summer and fall to raise funds in order to help establish RedRover's humane education program in the Inland NW.  I will share photos and information about our hikes via Dog About Town NW's social media and blog - www.dogabouttownnw.com, promoting this fundraiser. In addition, I will share photos and profiles of pups owned by those who donate.

For those who would like to take things a step further,  I welcome others to join Riley and me by becoming team leaders (more about that below).  Individuals, non-profits, community groups, and  businesses are welcome to participate as team leaders.

RedRover Readers is a social and emotional learning program that uses high-quality children’s picture books, discussion, and activity guides to help teachers and volunteers lead discussions that promote critical thinking, develop empathy, and help children make better moral and ethical decisions.

The Benefits of Humane Education:

Reduces Violence

Builds Moral Character

Creates Responsible and Caring Citizens

Empowers Youth to Make a Difference

Cultivates Empathy for Animals

If you'd like to join the pack and be a team leader, please contact Chris at Chris@dogaboutttownnw.com. If you've made a donation, please share photos of your dog by emailing me at the address above and put "Donation" in the subject heading. Along with your dog's photo, please include the name you made your donation under, your dog's name and breed or mix, and where the photo was taken. More information about your dog and the trail is welcome.

Oh, and the donations go directly to RedRover.org and are targeted for use here in the Inland NW.  We are happy to take off-line donations as well. You can make a check payable to RedRover and send to Chris Shafer, P.O. Box 1423, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83816.

Thank you!  Happy tails & trails!
