This year, for Giving Tuesday and the Holiday Season, help us restore eyesight to 10,000!
In remote areas of the developing world, children and adults alike are affected by cataract. The story of Tume, in the video, is one of many.
18 million people, a population the size of Canada, are unable to perform the tasks of daily living because of easily treatable cataracts. For people in remote areas, blindness can be particularly devastating. It can be difficult or impossible for children to attend school and for adults to maintain a livelihood.
With your help, the Himalayan Cataract Project aspires to overcome the mountain of global blindness, one patient at a time. It costs just $25 for a simple 10-minute sight-restoring cataract surgery.
This Giving Tuesday and throughout the Holiday Season, our goal is to raise funds to restore eyesight for 10,000 needlessly blind people. We can only do this with your help!
The charity that raises the most money on #GivingTuesday, from 12:00 am to 11:59 pm eastern time, will win $25,000 for their cause — which amounts to 1,000 cataract surgeries and 1,000 lives changed! Help us get there!
