Have you heard?
June 07, 2017
For more than forty years F. Scott Black has inspired artists, entertained audiences and uplifted students. Through Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre, his teaching and directing, and serving as Dean of Liberal Arts at CCBC, he worked tirelessly to keep quality live arts accessible and affordable for our communities.
Now we have a chance to honor his work! Robert and Eleanor Romadka have pledged $150,000 to establish an endowment for Performing Arts at CCBC. For the past year, we’ve been working to match the Romadka family’s generous gift. More than 212 donors have pledged nearly $100,000 to ensure the future of the live arts for our artists and audiences.
As we come to the end of the matching campaign, we’re looking for anyone whose life was ever touched by F. Scott Black, or by any faculty member, artist or program at CCBC, to help us meet the challenge. In honor of Scott’s dedication to his students, to the hundreds of actors and artists he’s mentored, and to the live arts at CCBC, we will celebrate the completion of the campaign by renaming the CCBC Essex mainstage theatre – The F. Scott Black Theatre.
Will you help us make this dream come true? Make a gift today!
PS. Once you’ve made your gift, be sure to share it online – on Facebook, Twitter, or wherever your message may reach others who would want to see Scott’s name up in lights!
