I have known my dear friend, John, for the past 18 years. John was always an active single dad with his only son, constantly shuttling him between baseball practice, surfing, ice hockey and cub scouts. Being a handy man offered John the flexibility and the time to be able to be such an attentive father. Though, the economy started to look bleak, so did John's work schedule. As his steady flow of work started to dry up, John took another huge hit, this time in his personal life. It was around this time that John's son was diagnosed with a medical condition that ended up taking his life. Despite the loss of his beloved son, John continues to be a hard worker. Doing handy man work, he makes next to nothing. He never asks for anything and is always ready and willing to help others that are in need. My only wish is to help him get ahead, because I feel that everyone deserves a chance. If you know John, please do not say anything to him about this, as this is meant to be a surprise and anonymous.
