Each year, HOBY Maine invites schools around the state to select an outstanding member of their sophomore class to attend the HOBY Maine seminar held in late Spring. This three-day seminar is designed to explore and develop leadership skills and instill a commitment to giving back. In fact, HOBY ambassadors are challenged to complete 100 hours of community service within one year of their seminar!
Founded in 1958, HOBY’s mission is to inspire and develop our global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation. HOBY programs are conducted annually throughout the United States, serving local and international high school students.
HOBY programs provide youth selected by their schools to participate in unique leadership training, service-learning and motivation-building experiences. HOBY also provides adults with opportunities to make a significant impact on the lives of youth by volunteering.
HOBY Maine is a non-profit organization that relies solely upon financial support from donors and gift-in-kind donations.
