Help us deliver Smiles, Hugs, Music, Love & the Gift of Human kindness
We need your help to reach the GOAL... 90 CHARITIES IN 48 DAYS.
Holiday Express works year round to ensure no one is alone at the holidays. Now is the time that we plan for the holiday season and purchase supplies for the 24,000 people we serve. Now is when we need your help.
Each event - from volunteer transportation, stage set-up, delicious meal, to gift bags filled with practical essentials - is $5,000 to $20,000 depending on the number of guest attending. Holiday Express does not charge the state developmental centers, soup kitchens, specialized schools, psychiatric facilities, and homeless shelters that we visit. We depend on the generosity of people like yourself to make the gift of human kindness possible.

From 2009 Holiday Express Yearbook by elf Ashley: ""...Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher and Higher,” the classic R&B hit by Jackie Wilson, is performed in full force by the Holiday Express band. The singers walk between the aisles, the sax players are blowing their horns. The crowd is either dancing or swaying in their seats and everyone is singing along. Costumed elves are giving hugs and smiles, holding hands. The energy and excitement in the room is mesmerizing. A Holiday Express event is like being on an emotional roller coaster. One minute you are dancing and smiling, and the next minute you are trying as hard as you can to hold back your tears. To try and put a tattoo on someone’s deformed, yet beautiful face, while trying to keep your hand from shaking. To smile into someone’s sad eyes and hold their hand while happy tears roll down their face. To keep on giving hugs to people who can't move a muscle. Music, the universal language, is always about the possibility of transcendence, of things getting better. It helps uplift from sad and heartbreaking circumstances into a moment which grows into two hours of transformation, and infuses anyone with the strength to carry on. The music draws us all together as a community, erasing all our differences, and making us all the same. To see the big smiles and pure happiness etched on so many faces made my Holiday Season the best one yet. I grew up believing that giving, sharing and volunteering are a part of human nature. We are social creatures that need and rely on others. Giving to others, if it is a hug or just a smile, leaves you with a warm feeling, a boost in energy and overall happier mood...Tracy Chapman wrote, “I’ve seen and met angels wearing the disguise of ordinary people living ordinary lives.” Holiday Express is the place where you are surrounded by all those angels, and I have found the place to “lift me higher and higher.” Thank you for helping Holiday Express deliver the gift of human kindness. www.holidayexpress.org
