I am raising money to help the Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA) buy grocery store gift cards for Holocaust survivors.
There are over 250 Holocaust survivors in Montgomery County, Maryland, who are living at, or below, the poverty level. Most of these survivors are struggling to live on their own because of their poor health and limited resources. This money will help them have enough food to eat each month.
I chose to do this for my Mitzvah Project because my Grandpa Beno was a Holocaust Survivor and he means a lot to me. This is a picture of me with my Grandpa when I was younger. I want to honor his memory by helping other people who lived through that time.
I am also making homemade cards for these survivors, to brighten their day because most of them are very lonely and do not have family members who can visit with them. I want to let survivors know that people care about them.
All the money I raise here will go to JSSA’s Holocaust Survivor Services program to help buy Giant gift cards for Holocaust Survivors. You can learn more about JSSA’s program for survivors at: www.jssa.org/survivorprogram.
Thank you so much for helping me raise money for this important project!
