BENEFITING: Roman Catholic Diocese Of Scranton
Holy Rosary School, Duryea, was flooded in September 2011. The lower level containing the Cafeteria, Preschool and Library were severely damaged. It took over six months to rebuild our lower level. Through the hard work of many people and generous donations, the Library has been beautifully rebuilt and stocked with many books. The only remaining need is a system for cataloging and tracking the books. The old card catalog system was destroyed and would be extremely labor intensive to replicate. A new electronic scanning system would enable the librarians to locate materials for the students and have an electronic catalog of our books. We have in place a computer which can be dedicated to a cataloging system. Our collection is growing and we are eager to implement a new cataloging system.
