Pregnancy loss and stillbirth remain two of the most taboo subjects associated with women's health. Holy Sews, Inc., is changing that mindset. This ministry is the epitome of love as it spreads compassion during a family's most vulnerable time - the loss of a baby born too soon. The bereaved family is experiencing an unexpected, tragic loss. The hopes and dreams for their child are gone forever. The simple act of providing the family the choice of what to bury their child in is small, but priceless, during this grief-filled time.
Faithful volunteers, including women and men, work together once a month to painstakingly and lovingly assemble the layettes and to ensure that each one is beautiful and pleasing to the eye. We want to make sure that mothers and families are presented with their baby that is beautifully clothed and wrapped in love as they are forced to say hello and goodbye to their child.
Since 2008, Holy Sews, Inc., has donated free of charge more than 6,000 layettes to hospitals and funeral homes across the USA and Canada. We are currently in all hospitals in the state of Arkansas, as well as 28 other states, including New York and Texas. This ministry reinforces the fact that all infants, regardless of their size or gestational age at loss, are important and deserve to be honored and treasured by health care professionals, bereavement counselors, and funeral home personnel. Our services greatly enhance the ability to offer compassionate care to women and their families during this period of bereavement.
