home for COMFORT
Organized by: Cindy Kirkpatrick
Building a home for COMFORT! Comfort Takyi is an inspirational woman who lives in Amrahia, Ghana. Recently she retired, after 25 years, with International Needs (Ghana), where she worked and travelled tirelessly to find support and sponsors for some of the poorest children in Africa. Comfort has improved the lives of many children and families, brought education and water to villages and introduced our Lord and Saviour to people all over the world! Now it is our turn to support Comfort! The community where Comfort lives in Ghana was so grateful to her for bringing the first school to their village, that ten years ago the Chief of the village gave her a piece of land. An amazing gesture of appreciation! Working for so many years in a non-profit organization, Comfort needs our help to finish building her home! The house she has lived in for the past 20+ years, belongs to International Needs. Due to her retirement, she must relocate by March 2016. Comfort lives the “widow mite” story (Luke 21:1-4). She has saved and slowly built her home with any funds she could spare. Now she has less than two months to complete her home to the point where it will be safe for her to move in. She needs windows, doors, a security wall and a gate around her home. We need to raise $10,000 US to complete this home and allow Comfort to retire in a safe dwelling that will surely be full of family, friends, travellers and anyone in need! No room will be empty! Comfort wants to designate a space in her home to teach children with learning disabilities and special needs. These are children who are usually not given the opportunity to go to school to learn to read and write. We need to find it in our hearts to help Comfort’s dream home become a reality! PLEASE give generously… every dollar will help!
