Homeless Care Packages
Organized by: Daisy Leepson
Several months ago I was walking around Downtown Atlanta. On almost every block there was a homeless person begging for food. I had an unopened Coca-Cola bottle with me so I decided to give it to a homeless man. The reaction on the gentlemen’s face was priceless. This small act of kindness had brought so much joy to one person. This got me thinking about poverty in a large scale. If there were so many people .living in poverty in Atlanta, imagine the whole world. I addressed this situation among my friends and they too had a passion for solving the worldwide problem of poverty. We started thinking of small acts of kindness that would eventually lead to a much larger effect. We all had a similar idea; to create care packages for homeless men and women in Downtown Atlanta. With further discussion everyone agreed to try to make 50 homeless care packaged that included a sandwich, snack, fruit, water, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, tissues, and first aid materials. Any donation is much appreciated.
