BENEFITING: EPARCHY OF SAINT MARON OF BROOKLYN
HOURS PLEDGED: 520
This started as a community service project encouraged by my employer's philanthropic foundation and organized through my faith based community. It has become an extension of my volunteer ministry as a subdeacon. I recently volunteered at our local homeless shelter and was deeply saddened by the number of children I saw who were homeless. In America this just seems unacceptable. It is a travesty. It is too easy to blame the faceless economy or the parents who have been unable to care for their childern. The money raised through this project will pay for research and program development in this most urgent situation for America.
