THE STORY:

I am a single mother of a 16 year old girl and a 5 year old boy. I would do anything for my children. Life has been really hard lately. I do work full time, however have to drive 45 mins to work and from work doesn't allow me much time with my kids. I am unable to work a second job due to there not being enough hours by the time I get home to do so. My daughter is very active in sports, she runs cross country, track, and plays soccer. She's very active with our local 4 H club and the Leo's Club. She is always trying to help others as well. It's very hard for me to provide her with everything that she needs. I have not been able to buy her running shoes for the last two seasons. The ones she runs in now are not good for her running in nor or they the type she really needs, they have lost a lot of the support. I want to provide her with better shoes, I just can't.
I can't even afford to buy my son shoes or clothes. He is a growing 5 year old. I do go to the second hand stores when I can, but they don't always have things in his size as he is slim and taller.
My kids and I lived in a 2 bedroom apt for over 4 years. We were given a wonderful opportunity by buying a house on contract. Now the house itself is nothing fancy. The house itself needs a roof, siding, windows and basement repair. I however cannot afford this on my own. I do not qualify for any kind of assistance as I do have a full time job that pays somewhat okay. I pay all the bills, childcare, and for the lunches at my kids schools. It does not live much money for anything else.
I myself do not buy things for myself. I do not get haircuts or colors. Everything I have goes into my kids. Some days it's really overwhelming and I don't know what else to do. This winter was really hard with the electric bill. Over $400.00 a month during the winter. Now I was able to put it on budget billing but that didn't help much considering it gets spread over 12 months and then added to the average of the bill monthly. Still looking at over $400.00 a month for electric bill. We are on the verge of having the power and water shut off.
We do not have cable or any other unnecessary expense. We make our own laundry soap and fabric softener so it last longer than the store bought soaps. We try to save every penny we can, every where we can.
I really feel like I am failing my kids and it has put a lot of stress on me. I am trying to think of every possible way I can to try and come up money to make things better for my kids. I have included pics of the roof and basement that need to be fixed.
If you can find it in your heart to help that would be very much appreciated.
