BENEFITING: KLEIWERKS INTERNATIONAL
Bryan Hiott and Debbie Rice, along with the Outreach Committee of Christ Church Riverdale invite you to join us as we raise funds for a sustainable home building workshop in Port-au-Prince.
Twelve students from the Partnership Program of the Episcopal Diocese of Haiti will participate in a home building workshop through Kleiwerks International, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering ecological and social resilience. Participants will use the training to help others build homes for themselves. In that sense, the class will not be a one-time event, but a means of perpetuating shelter and empowerment many times over.
There are three ways to contribute...
1. Donate online through Crowdrise. We're happy to accept donations of any amount. 100% of your donation (other than the credit card processing fees taken by Crowdrise) will go to the workshop in Haiti.
2. If you live in the area and would like to attend our fundraising dinner the tickets are $25.00 at the door and the event is taking place at Christ Church Riverdale in the Bronx, at 7:00PM, February 26th. The Rev. Nathanael Saint-Pierre, Priest in Charge of the Haitian Congregation of the Good Samaritan, Bronx, NY, will be our guest speaker. The work of Haitian artist, Monvelyno Alexis, will be featured at the event; as well as the music of local folk rock band, The Traveling Jewberries.
3. You can also send a check directly to Christ Church Riverdale. Please note on the memo line that your donation is for the "Homes For Haiti" benefit.
