We moved to a better area to get out daughter out of a bad neighborhood with not so great schools. And while she is in an amazing school, she is still struggling. We are not happy at all with Georgia's current public school curriculum. It seems that everything is focused on end of the year testing. Our daughter has ADHD, and some behavioral issues. She struggles with making and keeping friends and just finding a place amongst her peers. She is 9 years old and currently in 3rd grade. She complains of being bullied at school. When we asked her what she thought of being homeschooled she got all excited and said " that means I won't be bullied anymore!" We know she isn't perfect and does some bullying herself, but all the more reason to act now. We would like to cater her education to her, not her to the education. We have talked about homeschooling all year. With my nightshift job, and my husband just trying to find work, we didn't think that would ever be possible. After many months of prayer and research, we think we now have a solid plan to ensure the best outcome. Our plan: we will test homeschool over summer break, to make sure this is going to work for us. After our testing period we will change our curriculum to best suit her needs or decide if public school is really our best option. We are all pretty comfortable with the thought of homeschooling now, as well as we truly believe this is the best option for our family. We will need a new computer, my laptop is 5+ years old and I do not have Microsoft Office. We are getting a desk donated by my family. We need supplies, and to buy supplies we need money. My husband has started working but it is part time and minimum wage. We will have just enough to cover our few bills. We do not have any bills for anything we do not need. We do not buy things, as things do not make you happy. We are looking to move to a more rural area for some fresh air and peace of mind. All the money raised will go to homeschooling our daughter. If we receive more money than we need, I would like for any extra to help us move. We are trying our best to give our daughter the best chance at succeeding when she ventures into the world on her own. Life is not easy now, and we don't believe it will be any easier when she is older. Please pray for our family, if you are unable to, or do not want to donate. Thank you for reading our story and for any help we may receive. May God Bless.
