I first heard of GK back in 2002, the year i joined Singles for Christ in our hometown of Iloilo City. Exposure was during the build & housepainting activities at new villages provided by the local government as relocation sites for families who were illegally squatting on lots not their own. I felt something stir in me for these homeless dwellers. In 2010, our family started renovation on our own home which finished more than a month ago. Looking at our newly renovated home, the images of homeless families who couldn't afford their own housing kept blocking my view of our beautiful home. I need to look back at homeless brethren who I serve at GK sites nearby and in faraway towns in our province. I'm pleased to be doing something worthwhile for families besides my own.
