Since 2000 Jean Davison has been going to Honduras on Medical Missions working with Inglesia Misionera de Cristo. In 2003 a non-profit called Compassion Med international was begun to support these types of humanitarian trips. In 2007 Jean began taking her nursing students, UNC students and volunteers to Honduras for a service learning project. The students are an enormous help in the effort of delivering medical supplies and providing care to a population who desperately needs it.

The biggest cost for the Medical Mission is medications, supplies and foodbags. Every year Compassion Med delivers bags filled with rice, beans, flour, tortillas and food staples all purchased locally in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Each bag weighs 30 pounds and the cost of each bag is roughly $40. The bags are personally hand delivered to the families of greatest need by the team members. Not one penny goes to waste in this effort.

We here at Compassion Med International appreciate all the support and we want to show our gratitude so for every $45 donation (which is essentially the cost of one bag of food delivered and cost of a bag of coffee) we will send you a big bag of coffee.
The coffee comes from Honduras and with every bag of coffee purchased we help support the building of a school in Honduras. That's double help for your buck, not only are you providing 30 pounds of food to a hungry family but you are helping build a school and you get a delicious bag of whole bean Honduran coffee.  Here is more info on the coffee -
