Honey, now Honey Bunz ,is an 11-year-old English Bulldog who was left by her owners after 8 years when they said they just "didn't want a dog anymore." She was thin and unwell with infection around her ears, face, and feet. She lay on a cold concrete floor alone until her guardian angel Lisa found her and took her to save...because "nobody else would want an 8-year-old bulldog in this condition." But Lisa did. Her eyes were so sick they no longer produced proper tears to keep the eye lubricated. Her ears were so infected, so calcified, the damage was irreparable. She went to surgery and had drains placed on both sides of her face. She lost her hearing and was now completely deaf. But she slowly improved. And she started to share her victory with the world! She came out to an LCHS event and was spotted by her future grandmother, Sonya. That evening, while at work, her future mommy randomly felt (true story) that there was a brown bulldog that needed her. And her future mommy and daddy flew in to Tallahassee to meet this petite little territorial bully. Next month, she will have been in her home with her parents in Orlando, FL for 3 years, claiming her territory around every previously marked spot in the neighborhood. She often visits her grandparents in Tallahassee when she has a break from napping, sunbathing, eating peanut butter and whipped cream, and after another nap. Honey Bunz spends her days lounging on the couch or overly fluffy bed, always always with a blanket, and usually your pillow. She is 11-years-old and every time this snoring, waddling gem goes out, she gets all the "ooooos" and "awwwwwwws" she always deserved.
