BENEFITING: CARE of Southeastern Michigan
Remember your loved one on Saturday, September 24th. Honor them today with a Memorial Dove. Every day, 129 American families lose a loved one to overdose. (Imagine a Boeing 727 losing all of its passengers every day) Today, we'll lose129 sons, daughters, moms, dads, brothers, sisters and friends. Today, another 129 families will be left behind. On September 24th, 129 "adopted" white memorial doves will be released... To remember loved ones lost and to honor the survivors left behind. Our communities are facing an epidemic of addiction related deaths to overdose and suicide. Most of us know someone impacted by this tragedy. Established in 2013, Bike PATH: Ride for Recovery offers us the opportunity to work together and “Break the Cycle of Addiction”. Ride for Recovery raises awareness; provides life-saving resources; celebrates life in recovery; remembers lives needlessly lost and honors those families left behind to pick up the pieces. On Saturday, September 24th at 9:00 AM, one hundred and twenty nine white doves will be released during the Ride for Recovery Opening Ceremony to remember the lives needlessly lost every year and to honor the strength and courage of those loved ones left behind to pick up the broken pieces of their lives. All proceeds support critical funding for prevention and intervention programs provided to low income individuals and families impacted by addiction and mental illness.
