Andrew MacLean died in a car accident on November 22, 2015, his 37th birthday. In honor of his memory, we his family wish to raise money to continue the humanitarian work he cared so much about. Andrew first connected with Dr. Schuster and the Bicol Clinic Foundation while volunteering in Nepal. That trip changed the direction of his life, inspiring him to become a nurse. He began working with Dr. Schuster full time and travelled with him to the Philippines on three separate occasions, as well as to Sri Lanka, to set up medical clinics and assist with disaster relief work after the 2004 tsunami. Andrew also volunteered in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake devastated the country.
We are inviting all those who knew and loved Andrew, or those inspired by him who would like to reach out, to contribute in his name to the foundation he cared so much about. The Bicol Clinic Foundation is currently trying to raise money for their work in Nepal, The Philippines, and Haiti, three countries where Andrew volunteered and made deep connections.
