BENEFITING: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
EVENT DATE: Nov 16, 2013
As part of my larger effort to pay tribute to my fiance - Dave R. LeRiche - who passed away this April 2013 from Leukemia, I decided in August to challenge myself to do something to change the future for others impacted by blood cancers.
I pledged to raise as much money as I could for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) through Team in Training by running 13.1miles in the Nike Women's Half-Marathon Oct. 20th. I created our "Team Dave" and with the support of my older brother, Paul, who committed to running the race by my side, we have raised over $16,000 and my campaign to continue racing and raising funds to honor Dave is not yet over!
We have less than THREE weeks until Team Dave's Fall 2013 TNT campaign comes to a close for this season (Nov. 17th). With National Veteran's Day on Nov.11th, right before the close of our fundraising campaign - I'd like to get another wave of donations to honor Dave, not only because of his fight against Leukemia, but also because of his own pledge to protect and serve us on behalf of the U.S. Navy - Dave served in Aviation Ordinance stationed in Jacksonville, FL for four years before moving up to Charlotte, NC to finish his undergraduate studies and continued serving in the Reserves.
It is my desire to honor Dave and all other fallen heroes this Veteran's Day, as I run in the first ever National Veteran's Day 5K Run in SF on Sunday, Nov.10th.
Please visit my Team Dave homepage to read more about the story and journey we started in August of this year. and please help me honor our veteran's - donate to help honor to Dave this Veteran's Day! I would like to raise another $1,000 to add to our fight against blood cancers and to inspire others to not wait another day to do something - that day is TODAY!
