Honoring a Young Father Gone Too Soon
Organized by: Quincy Gaines
Tonight I just found out that a new friend of mine, Cody Garrick, a 23 year old father of 1 from Ocoee whom i had recently met via Lyft two weeks ago at a gas station (just before I was stranded in Orlando, Florida last month), tragically passed away in a car accident.
The woman that crashed into Cody's car killed him as he had just begun the first night on his new pizza delivery job. Cody was an instantly likeable human being with a kind heart. During our short time together that night, Cody and i instantly connected like we were life long old friends. We laughed and joked about life. Cody told me he was a fairly new father and he was rather fascinated about Uber and Lyft driving to the point where he was entertaining the thought of signing on as a driver. I gave him the encouragement he sought and advice he needed, but he was more excited about the pizza delivery job interview he had just come from.
My heart is hurting right now as i type this because Corey was just a kid....OMG---23 IS TOO YOUNG, His daughter is going to grow up without her daddy, AND I can't even imagine or fathom how Corey's girl and ESPECIALLY his mom feel. ---A parent losing their child never fully heals from that, because it's not normal!
If your heart is as heavy as mine is and you'd like to join me in being a blessing to Cody's family, please let Cody's family know how you feel through the resources of this page. Please be encouraged to bless them with your kind words, thoughts, prayers, love and support. Please share this page with your family and friends.
This page is our love gift to Cody's family.
To Cody's parents, Tamara and Joseph Garrick, and his daughter Alexia Garrick, please be blessed by this gift, a show of love and support from all of us to all of you! Be blessed by this!
