BENEFITING: Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis
Our friend Monte succumbed to a brain injury last month and we seek to honor Monte and his family by funding a game room at the Porter Goodwill Club of the Boys and Girls Club of Memphis. The game room will be dedicated to Monte and will serve as an added anchor for the kids who are improving themselves every day by participating in activities at the Club.
Many of us became friends with Monte through The Phoenix Club of Memphis and its mission of supporting the Boys and Girls Clubs.
Antonio Harris serves as the director of the Porter Goodwill Club and put forward the request for the board of the Board to create the game room in a space that he has available. The game consoles have been donated, the rules established in concert with other organizations in Memphis that have developed similar gaming platforms, the room has been painted orange and we now seek to purchase the remaining needed items.
The funds raised here will acquire 4 large screen TV’s, wall mounts, installation, remote charging stations and storage cabinets that will provide Club management with the ability to oversee use of the equipment. To the extent that funds raised exceed the monies necessary for the project, the Sernel family will be provided with the option of steering the dollars to the Club as they see best honors their wishes.
Donors funds will be tax deductible donations and you will receive a letter of receipt from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Memphis.
