Honoring Mrs. Valencia and the Strong Women She Raised
Organized by: Friends of the Valencia Family
Update - Sunday, May 3:
We are very sad to say that Mrs. Valencia left us but we are grateful her battle with cancer is over. She was so strong to the very end.
Mrs. Valencia was extremely grateful for the out pouring of love and support shown to her and her family. She reminded us that even in pain life is still beautiful and she left an incredible legacy with her amazing daughters who will continue to change their community.
Again, thank you for making life beautiful. Thank you for rallying around such a great family. You've helped to make an extremely difficult time just a little bit easier for our friends.

Have you ever been to a TCDP precinct chair meeting? Or maybe you went to a Wendy Davis rally or you might have seen a Harry Reid commercial. If so, then chances are you know the Valencia sisters. Lila, Eva and Blanca are extremely involved, active Democrats and community leaders. From the SDEC to City Hall, these women have stood up, spoken out and given back time and time again. Now their friends need to be there for them.
A few weeks ago, Lila, Eva, Blanca and their family got some bad news. Their mom, or as they call her Mami, fell and broke her arm. What’s a normal accident for most turned into a diagnosis of a rare and extremely aggressive cancer.
You may have seen Mrs. Valencia on the campaign trail or playing with her grandkids at a community event. In just three short months Mrs. Valencia has gone from a compassionate activist and loving mother to hospice care. She’s a tough lady and she’s raised some pretty awesome women. Let’s show the Valencia family how much we care.
Lila, Eva, and Blanca have all given so much to our community. We’ve worked with them at the capitol, through non-profit work, in the classroom, on campaigns, and in the community on a number of projects. This is our chance to pitch in and show this family what they mean to our community and to us.
We’ve set a goal to raise $5,000 for the Valencia family’s expensive medical and ancillary expenses. Together we can make life just a little bit easier for the ladies we love, their mom, and their family.
Please save the date June 6th to celebrate Blanca Valencia and her wonderful daughters. Mark your calendars, we’ll send along details soon.
