Many of the elderly were unable to evacuate during Hurricane Sandy. Many of these elderly have had little or no contact with the outside world. Without power, many of these fragile human beings are in danger of freezing to death. These people are in need of food, blankets, and other necessities.
As a Hurricane Florence survivor, I know first hand how slow disaster relief can come for many individuals. Many of these elderly are not even on the radar for federal emergency aid because they have been isolated and have no way to apply for help. These frail individuals could be left without aid for weeks. It is up to their fellow Americans look out for them!
