Most people don't know much about this tiny little South East Asian country called Cambodia, yet is is one of the greatest inspirations of overcoming ones past. Honour Village Cambodia (HVC) seeks to help children overcome their current situation by equipping them with skills that they will need for their lives. As an orphanage it houses around 20 children, and as a school it helps develop the community. These are the most passionate and loving people I have ever met. Passionate about educating the next generation, but also purposeful in what they want to achieve for HVC and their community. Time and time again I have been amazed by not just the teachers, but the students ambition to be educated. With a bit of fun, and a desire to learn, the teachers and students have created an excellent learning environment. The end year function is coming up, and HVC would like to reward it's pupils. This money is going towards encouraging students to continue working hard, and to put their education first. As a South African volunteer helping out I feel that it is best to quote none other than Nelson Mandela "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Help these people change their world. You are more than just a drop in the ocean to these kids, you are what we wish for them; a new wave of people interested in helping others.
