Hoof Beats for Heroes the Joshua Munns Foundation
Organized by: Jackie Stewart
My only child, Joshua Munns, was kidnapped in November of 2006 in Iraq. In 2008 his body was recovered. He was buried that same year.
After an extended grieving period, I marshaled my forces and went back school to become a massage practitioner. Now, working in a chiropractors office to gain some practical experience, I feel confidant as a professional in my field.
Working with Veterans would be, I feel, a healthy way to honor Joshua's memory. The Veterans Administration does not offer massage therapy. Here is a breakdown of what I would need: If I raised $28,200 I would be able to treat 470 Veterans for 47 weeks. If I raised $42,300, I would be able to treat 705 Veterans for 47 weeks. Anything that I could raise above that I would be able to hire another Massage therapist and be able to treat more Veterans.I am not a professional fundraiser, just a mom who would like to give back.
For those who can and will contribute I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart. Thanks to all for reading.
