A team of 12 Forward Edge International volunteers have decided to run the world-renown Hood to Coast relay race. They're running for a very specific purpose: to rebuild a home in Haiti for a desperate family in need. The team will be running nearly 200 miles in this race! Please consider sponsoring them at 10 cents a mile ($20), 25 cents a mile ($50), 50 cents a mile ($100) or even $1 a mile ($200)! Partner with this team to change the world for this family!
Prior to the massive 2010 Haiti earthquake, the Belizaire family had a stable life. Mr. Belizaire worked a good job that allowed for Mrs. Belizaire to stay home and take care of their children, Ralph, Carl, and Carla. Everything changed when the earthquake hit. Mr. Belizaire was killed, and their home was completely destroyed. Mrs. Belizaire now sells clothes on the street to make ends meet. They live in a primitive home built out of tarps and sheet metal, without a kitchen, beds, toilets, chairs, or running water. There is hardly any room for the kids to study or eat. They have lived like this for six years.
Forward Edge’s child sponsorship program in Haiti, Nouvo Lavi (“New Life” in Creole), has been serving the Belizaire family by providing nutritious meals, school tuition support, safe drinking water, emotional care, and spiritual guidance. But, without a safe and clean home, it’s extremely difficult for Ralph, Carl, and Carla to stay healthy and keep up with studying to succeed in school. A new home will bring Mrs. Belizaire restored hope for the future of her children.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to completely rebuild the Belizaire family home. Please join us in showing the Belizaire family that they're not forgotten!
