Hope for a Foster Child

The population of foster children in the U.S is continuing to grow rapidly. With children separated from their parents and many times siblings, life in a shelter is usually extremely difficult and depressing. The feeling of hope and love dissipates ever so slowly throughout a period of time and the luck of being adopted fades away for many youth older than 15 but younger than 18.  As a former foster child myself, I know all too well how it feels to see every holiday pass by without a phone call or a hug from my mother. Loneliness crept in every season and contemplated suicide was prevalent. This upcoming Holiday i would like to give former fellow foster youth and others alike a HOPE to believe in and hold onto for the rest of their lives. A Hope that says you're loved and you matter. A hope that reminds them to press forward when all seems hopeless and to never give in to their disappointments and let downs. This season, I would like to provide for these youth (the only family i ever had during my days of foster care) by offering at least a little of what they deserve but never received, the gift of love. With much help from my community, my friends and many of you; this holiday season can be the turning point in a grim reality. I would like your help to provide these youth with adequate clothing, bathroom necessities (that many of us take for granted), and all the little things that bring joy and comfort to those in distress. Please help me make this holiday season unforgettable for many of the youth in foster care who many times have not much else to look forward to but their next placement. ]

**All contributions are greatly appreciated and will be met with a personal thank you letter and Pin of HOPE as a way of saying thank you for careing. Please email address/ PO Box for Pin of HOPE and letter to be sent via postage to.**
