Hope For Baby Ean
Organized by: Kayla Tennant
This is Ean's Story. Ean is only 9 months old. On Sunday May 15th his mom had to call an ambulance; he had stopped breathing and went limp in his mothers arms. When EMS got there Ean was in cardiac arrest. From Sunday evening until late Monday morning Ean had gone into cardiac arrest at least 7 times. The doctors had given up all hope. They called the family in to let them say there last good bye's. They let Mom hold him, and sent up the Chaplin. We where all devastated; we where told we where loosing a young innocent little (at the time) 8 month old baby boy. Who just the day before was the happiest healthiest little boy you could meet. His mother and father refused to believe the fight was over and they NEVER lost hope in their little boy. Here we are a month later and he is doing well considering all he has been through. He suffers from hypoxia. Which is caused from lack of oxygen to the brain. When they removed the arterial line from his leg it caused a clot. So now he gets a shot of heparin in his belly twice a day. Which they now let his Mom do. This baby may be small but he is mighty! on 6-2-2016 they placed a G-tube, and they placed a trache. He is doing well with both. They are letting mom suction baby and she even got to change the tube once. This may be nothing to some but this lets us know he is in fact getting better. On 6-13-16 they transferred Ean to a rehabilitation center for 1-3 months. Where he is receiving therapy from 8:30am-5:30pm with a few small breaks and a two hour break for napping, and rest. His mother has went with him; after a month off of work his father has had to return to work. He will be traveling back and forth with there two other children from Pittsburgh to Fairmont on his days off of work. As well as any other time that he is able to. This journey will not be easy by any means. The cause is unknown so they're wanting to complete a 15,000 genetic test to see if that can help them figure out what happened. To help them prevent it from happening again in the future. Baby Ean needs your help. Not only does he need that genetic test he also needs therapy, and 24/7 nursing care at home. He may be small but he is mighty.
