Reports update today that more that 800 are now dead in Haiti following the hurricane and the numbers will continue to rise. I can't thank you See More
We have all been following the devastating news of Hurricane Matthew and how hard the southern part of Haiti had been hit. There are major cities such as Jeremie that are pretty much washed out! Any structure that wasn't concrete is gone, agriculture and livestock gone. Food storage washed away or stolen. The bridge and roads are out making travel by cars and boats nearly impossible. There is desperation to get food and water to the people there. In other nearby areas we know of 400 orphans that were displaced because their orphanages were destroyed or not safe for the children to be in. Places that took them in have about enough food for three days. This is an emergency. Food, water, and medical supplies need to get to these people soon. Most of us live a very blessed life. We all suffer at some point and times are hard. Nothing will ever be this hard. When the average Haitian already tries to survive and support their family on approximately $2.50 per day, and then destruction hits leaving them with nothing.... this is a feat most of us will never have to face. I am asking/challenging all my friends and family to dig deep into their hearts and not simply just ignore this and go onto the next story. A simple donation of even $5 is so much when it comes to providing water and rice. Basics that is all we are asking for. Take a minutes to name off 5 blessings in your life right now, and then think about blessing another with the gift of just surviving. Please help us help them! I am working with two organizations that have been busting their tails day and night to rescue children and families to give them a chance at life. Let's give them a chance at feeling human and cared about because these times weight heavy on their hearts. They aren't any lesser of a person that they deserve what has happened. Thank you! Amy
