On February 4, 2016 our lives changed in a flash. Our son, 15 year old Seth was diagnosed with stage 4 Ewings Sarcoma, he has a large tumor in his right thigh and it appears to be in his lungs as well. He started a condensed very aggressive chemo treatment with infusions every other week, so far this has not been tolerated well by Seth, lots of complications. He receives two days of chemo one week , blood work the next week and then 5 days of chemo the next week and this is repeated for approximately 10 months. We met with the surgeon last week and he very bluntly told us the plan for surgery at the 8 week mark is to remove the thigh muscle, the femur and to transplant the fibula from his good leg together with a donor bone. They hope this works. As you all know the treatment plan is not only aggressive but costly. As the only driver in the family due to my wife having low vision it is becoming extremely difficult to balance the need to work and at the same time be there for Seth. Just yesterday I had to leave work to rush Seth to the hospital more complications from the chemo treatments. We are a very proud family but I was told to swallow my pride and reach out to all the good hearted people in the world who might be willing to help a family in need of lots of prayers and any financial help you may be willing to give. In an effort to raise funds for ourselves I started making hand carved candles which has been slow to start as every time I want attend a show to promote the candles, Seth ends up back in hospital, so far he has been in hospital more than at home. I will continue to build on this at every opportunity. God Bless, Steve
