Life turned upside down! Our daughter Victoria, 27 years old, thought she was "out of shape"', yet she was 5'5" and 120 pounds, big brown eyes, beautiful smile, and a new bride. Victoria had noticed while walking up a small hill, she became "out of breath". She promised her new husband Matt that she would get to back to the gym and push herself because after all she wanted to be in the best shape possible before they started a family. Victoria, a special education teacher, ate healthy meals, drank plenty of water, got a good night's sleep, made time with friends and family, yet couldn't take her dog Gus for a walk around the block without her heart racing and not being able to breathe. She knew something was terribly wrong.
Victoria, with Matt by her side, went to see a cardiologist for a stress test of which she failed and all tests following were abnormal! Victoria was diagnosed with PULMONARY HYPERTENSION, a progressive disease, of which has NO CURE! She was told she cannot pick up, push or pull anything heavier than 20 pounds, she cannot take her dog Gus for a walk, go up stairs, in fact, Victoria needs to use the elevator at school. This "new normal" is extremely hard to process, and much more difficult to accept. NO CURE....
With medications Victoria should be able to breathe easier, walk short distances, and slow the progression of the disease. It is so very important to keep the research for a cure for Pulmonary Hypertension active! This research is the HOPE we have to help Victoria stop the progression of Pulmonary Hypertension, to live a long life, to continue to educate special needs children, and have the chance to survive a pregnancy and deliver a strong healthy baby.
Please find it in your heart, and lungs, to donate to Hope PHor a Cure to keep the research going and give Victoria back her breath. ( just a FYI, 25 is Victoria's favorite number, hence our goal)
Thank you, your donation will help us breathe easier.
Victoria's very proud parents, Jane & Al
