I hope this finds you having a good year. You may or may not know that Patty and I have been training to run the Detroit Half Marathon this October. This has helped Patty and I get into shape. But the main reason we are running this race is to raise money for the Polkot tribe in western Kenya. The money raised will go towards drilling wells for fresh water for the Pokot people. Clean water is something that we take for granted. Everyday, the Pokot have to walk 3-4 miles for a few gallons of water, water that is contaminated! This contaminated water is the amin cause for infant mortality rates of 50%. The freash water from the wells greatly improves their quality of life, builds communities which includes schools, hospitals and churches. It is not always easy to asked, but this is not about us. So we humbly ask that you consider donating for this worthy cause...through our pain and suffering of running 13.1 miles! You may easily donte at My Donation Page, or simply mail a check made to Hope Water Project.
