Hope and help for James after Foster Care
Organized by: Amy Mensch
James R. is turning 18 on July 19, 2014. He has been in foster care since age 5. He was removed from his mothers care due to abuse and neglect. He has been basically alone in his life for the past 13 years. He has moved in foster care over 34 times which means he has not had a chance to settle in to a consistent life and work on the things that other kids work on...education, relationships, social skills, life lessons, etc. James will be homeless when he ages out of foster care. He will not have a drivers license or some of the basic needs for life on his own. He does have biological family in North Carolina that he would like to visit to oossibly establish a relationship. He has never met any of them at this point. Money for James campaign would be to help him attend a drivers training class and pay the fees for his test and license. The funding would also pay for a short trip to North Carolina to meet his aunt and his grandma. Any remaining funds would be to help with tutor fees to help him finish up his high school education, personal care items, clothing and supplies for a life on his own.
