Hope For Dani
Organized by: Danielle Swett
Hello there, Thank you so much for reading. My name is Danielle. I am a 27 year old vegan pastry chef and Le Cordon Bleu graduate living in Los Angeles I haven't worked in months since I was injured and have thankfully had family to take me in.
I have been suffering in excruciating pain unable to eat with Bilateral Anterior Displaced Disc Without Reduction Closed Lock TMJ, requiring surgery by an Oral Maxillofacial Specialist called Arthroscopy. My jaw is locked to 15mm, I cannot chew or open mouth more than one finger width, and have been on a diet of soups and liquids for months (I've lost 30 pounds so far).
My insurance company Molina (through medi-cal) has denied the surgery for the 4th time on Thursday. Me, my family as well as friends have been fighting them on my behalf to approve this surgery as well, but they refuse again and again. This is inhumane to let me rot and waste away in excruciating pain, I will not stop fighting but I am utterly and completely exhausted from the constant pain and being unable to nourish myself properly.
If you are interested in helping my cause and would like to help, I have started this fundraiser. I feel bad asking for help from strangers and friends, but I am desperate to end this pain and open my mouth, I would do anything. If anything your prayers and positive vibes are appreciated as well. I refuse to give up, I refuse. But I don't know how much longer I can hang on :(
If you are interested in contacting Molina on my behalf, I'm posting their contact info below. NO ONE should have to suffer in this kind of pain unable to eat. We must let Molina know this is not acceptable and is inhumane -and that they MUST include this injury/condition as well as medically necessary and urgent surgery as a part of their care.
