Hope for The King Family
Organized by: Lisa's Friends From Torbank Nursery School
Davion King was a sweet little boy whose smile always lit up a room. It was infectious and he was a joy to be around. Davion loved Super Mario Bros and began collecting games at the age of 5, and dreamt of becoming a baseball player. In April of 2013, Davion was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor, a rare kidney cancer which affects less than 500 children each year in the United States. Wilms mostly occurs in children between the ages of three and four, uncommon after 6. Davion was 8 when he was diagnosed. He underwent extensive chemotherapy, transplants, and had many bumps in the road, but always had a smile.
Davion fought so hard for 2 1/2 years, but sadly passed away from this disease on October 11, 2015. His family has suffered financial setbacks with a multitude of bills. No family should have to worry about how they are going to pay for their child's funeral or how they are going to move forward and provide for the rest of their family. The holidays are a time for giving, let's give to one of our own!
