Hope for Little Pax
Organized by: Marcia Quintanar
"Little Pax" is a beautiful, lovable baby. His life and his whole families life has changed in the blink of an eye. He was diagnosed with Leukemia on April 16, 2014. That day they took him into the ER because he was having fever, and it wouldn't go away. Never would they think it would be Cancer. He was immediately admitted into ICU where he was in pain, and having all this testing done in order to find out what was wrong with him. They had to intubate him because his symptoms were getting worse as the day went by. They did a Bone Marrow biopsy after 10 hours of waiting the biopsy came back positive. His little body had already gone through so much in those long horrible hours. He had to spend about a week in ICU because he wasn't stable enough to put him in a regular room. As soon as he was stable and after they had diagnosed him they began his chemotherapy. He spent almost 3 weeks in the hospital, and know they have to prepare to keep fighting this horrible disease. He will be undergoing chemotherapy treatments once a week. He has to take medication that will cost his family over $120 per week. They are a young hard working family that will have to make ends meet in order to provide everything the baby will need to make him comfortable and stable while undergoing chemotherapy. He is already suffering all the side effects from the chemotherapy. He has lost his beautiful hair, he is very irritable, he is only wanting to eat certain things that are getting very expensive to provide for him. He only wants his Mommy and Daddy to comfort and be with him at all times. His parents had to move from their home because they will not be able to afford their rental payment anymore. They will also need a place that is closer to the hospital where he will be in and out. They are currently staying at his Daddy's grandmothers house which is a very small space until they find something closer to the hospital and cheaper. They will have to purchase a new car to provide comfort for "Little Pax" when he is being driven from his appointments. The car they are driving has no AC, and they are always having to fix it. With the money we are hoping to raise we will be helping the parents provide any medication that has to be given to him, hopefully find a place to live that will be accommodating for the baby, get a good car that they can rely on, and provide all of the comforting foods, and things "Little Pax" will need from know on.
