Hope for Trinity
Organized by: Corbin Cavolt
This fundraiser is for my best friend Trinity Penny who’s currently fighting against the cruel aftereffects of her battle with cancer.
Since December 2012 Trinity has endured three bouts with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. The second bout almost took her life and caused her to lose both the feeling in and function of her legs, resulting in her having to learn how to walk again. As of April 15th, Trinity has been on medical leave from work due to unpredictable fainting spells, leaving her in dire need of financial assistance. Since the cancer started she has missed out on many months of pay and as a result, has depleted her savings and accumulated massive debt. Lately she’s been able to receive short-term disability in addition to donations from certain organizations to help her keep her head above water, but her financial situation continues to deteriorate and she’s running out of options. Instead of focusing on getting better, Trinity lives in fear that she’ll be unable to keep a roof over her and her four-year-old daughter’s head.
The purpose of this fund is two-fold: In the short-term, it will be used to help Trinity pay off some of the massive debt she has incurred during the periods where she has been unable to work over the past year and a half and not qualified for assistance. In the long-term, due to the recurrent medical illness that has plagued Trinity’s life more often than not since her first bout with cancer, this fund will be used to cover Trinity’s expenses when she is unable to work in the future.
Despite being unable to work currently, Trinity volunteers her time as Training Lieutenant of the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad. When she’s not on medical leave, in addition to her officer duties, she’s a volunteer EMT. Trinity spends much of her time helping others, so I ask you to please help her in her time of need. Your support will allow her to focus on getting better, raising her daughter and giving back to the community through her volunteer rescue work. Whether or not you are able to make a financial contribution, please keep Trinity in your prayers and consider sharing this page with your friends via social media.
