BENEFITING: Hope House, Inc.
ORGANIZER: Hope House, Inc.
EVENT: Purple Purse Challenge
EVENT DATE: Oct 01, 2015
When Hope House came to me and asked if I'd consider being on their fundraising team for this year's Purple Purse Challenge, I was flattered and excited. Long before purple took a central focus in my life, I knew about Hope House and the good it has done and continues to do for families in our community. My oldest daughter, Ainsleigh's Brownie Troop has donated an item to Nick Swearngin's Headshave and Silent Auction for the past three years.
Unlike some of the headlines that led people to believe that Raintree Lake and Lee's Summit is filled with self-entitled, snooty, rich folk, we are a community that comes together when someone, be it an individual, family, or organization is in need. The majority of people in our community are kind, generous, and thoughtful citizens who give what they can to the people and causes in which they believe.
Our swing set may have been a thorn in the side of the Raintree HOA, but in the end, it has and will continue to bring neighbors together and open doors to new beginnings that only brighten and strengthen our community. Sadly, our community was hurt by some less than friendly press, but it's time for Raintree Lake and Lee's Summit to show how big our hearts can be and do what we can for Hope House and the families they help.
My personal goal is to raise $1,000 for Hope House in the month of October. Yes, there are a lot of other worthy causes out there, but how many are in your own backyard? Let's show the world what the wonderful neighbors of Hope House in Lee's Summit can do when they work together. Support Purple Purse and Hope a House TODAY!

Thanks so much to everyone in our community and around the world that supported and encouraged us in our time of need. Now let's come together, once again, to support Hope House with our time, dedication, and donations. Thank you.
