HOMELESS & ORPHANED PETS ENDEAVOR's Fundraiser:

HOPE - Homeless and Orphaned Pets Endeavor

THE STORY:

HOMELESS & ORPHANED PETS ENDEAVOR (HOPE) is an all-foster, no kill adoption group based in the Houston area. We are not a shelter.

Our mission is to end the homelessness of cats and dogs through foster to adoption, feral cat Trap-Neuter-Return, and education.

Houston has over one million stray cats and dogs! This is a huge problem for our community. Every animal that comes through the HOPE adoption program is spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Unfortunately many Houston residents are unaware of the importance of spay/neuter which creates a huge population of unwanted, sick, diseased and dying dogs and cats. Because the climate is mild in our area breeding seasons are longer than other areas of the country. Certain low income neighborhoods have a larger concentration of homeless and free roaming animals due to the cost of veterinary care. Our goal with this fundraiser is to choose locations where this is a known problem and provide a free spay/neuter and education day. We plan to work with a local mobile clinic to provide the medical services. And, would have volunteers on site handing out fliers and talking to the residents about the importance of responsible pet ownership. Spay/Neuter is the first and most important step in ending the homelessness of animals.

Since we are an all foster organization and we have no physical location, we rely on grants and donation support from outside organizations and programs to aid us in our goal to drastically lower the stray population. We would greatly appreciate the support and publicity offered through this incredible opportunity.
