The beginning of Hope’s story is similar to many homeless pets throughout the country. After being found as a stray and never claimed, she was scheduled to be euthanized at the San Antonio City Animal Impound. Hope came into the facility covered in burrs and had external parasites. Underneath her neglected appearance was a beautiful Golden Retriever mix puppy - one that many adoptive families come in looking for. She was a “dream dog,” but unfortunately you just couldn’t tell from her photo.
One day a Chicago volunteer came across her information, and she knew something had to be done. She looked beyond Hope’s poor intake photo, and she saw something special. Just 30 minutes before Hope’s schedule euthanasia, Wright-Way Rescue committed to save her life. Wright-Way partnered with San Antonio Pets Alive and got Hope on a plane to O’Hare Airport. Hope was on her way to a better life.
Over a dozen volunteers were involved in Hope’s rescue and over 1,200 miles were traveled. Hope finally got her second chance. When she arrived at Wright-Way Rescue, we quickly realized Hope was a very special girl that nearly lost her life. For the first time in her life, she now has a family and a loving home.
A message from her new home: Hope, now Madison, is doing great! She loves her sister, walks, car rides, and daily trips to the dog park! Thanks again!”
Hope’s story has a happy ending, but it unfortunately doesn’t end that way for many highly adoptable animals. Please consider donating today to help Wright-Way Rescue save the lives of animals like Hope.
