In 2010, the Random Acts team traveled to Jacmel, Haiti to help the community rebuild after the earthquake that struck the island last January. While there, they rebuilt a dental clinic and refurbished an orphanage, both of which had sustained earthquake damage. They also took 1600 tools with them to supply a carpentry school that they helped to start.
That was a great beginning!
This June, they’re going back!
In June 2011, Misha Collins, Matt Cohen and the rest of the Random Acts team will take a group of 40 people to Jacmel, Haiti to help again.
They are going to build a green multipurpose community center that will:
- Feed and house some of Haiti’s hungry and homeless children
- Educate the children of Jacmel
- Serve as a microlending center
They are also going to construct a sustainable fish farm that will:
- Provide a reliable source of protein for the children living in the community center
More information can be found on the Random Acts website here.
Liz and Hadley are hoping to help raise $1,000 for the project. Please help!
