Former president Jimmy Carter and wife Rosalynn Carter will be hosting a special week of "building and, rehabilitating, and repairing homes as part of a worldwide effort to highlight the need for sustainable communities and healthy housing." The work will be accomplished via Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake. The kids you see in the pictures are my little buddies from the Big Buddy - Little Buddy program at Johns Hopkins. Their family has been selected as one of the families that a home will be built for by Habitat for Humanity. Everything seems to come full circle. This family is deserving of a new affordable home. The kids are on the right track to success and a new affordable home will keep them on the right track. Tremone is the young boy in the picture and he constantly gives compliments to everyone. One day, he asked me if I had a dollar. I asked him why he wanted to know if I had a dollar. I assumed he was going to ask me for the dollar so he could buy something. But instead, he said, I just want to make sure you're rich because you are so nice. He didn't ask for my dollar and I didn't give him the dollar. Instead, I hope to help build this home for him. Please help us raise the money we need. And thanks for everything.
