Four months ago, St. Vincent's Hospital, a 160 year old institution in Greenwich Village (NYC) declared bankruptcy and closed. Without going into the circumstances surrounding that closing, which are tragic, complex, and outrageous, the Lower West Side of NYC now has no adequate hospital or emergency services. St. Vincent's was a full service hospital with a Level One Trauma Center that was vital to the community and was critical involved in the care of victims from the World Trade Center bombing in 1993 and the 9/11 destruction (not to mention treating the victims of the Titanic disaster). 1.3 million residents, workers, and tourists now have no access to emergency healthcare. We are fundraising to campaign for a new hospital at the current fully functional, centrally located site. Please help us.
