THE STORY:

Frances Hermansky wrote -

On May 5-6, we will be running 194 miles through 36 cities and across the Golden Gate Bridge on team (Hot Dogs and Buns) with 11 friends during the largest event in the world promoting organ donation. As a team, Hot Dogs and Buns is in its first year at The Relay. However, we do have two team members who have run the race before; their enthusiasm for this event got the rest of us fired up to participate!  We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the charity -- Organs R Us -- and are so proud to be helping by raising money and increasing awareness. During The Relay, known as California's Longest Party, passing the baton to the next team member will symbolize the transfer of an organ from donor to recipient. The Relay is dedicated to Katie Grace Groebner (born 7/16/02) who needs a new heart and lungs.

Please discuss your personal wishes regarding organ donation with your family. This will allow loved ones to make an informed decision if you become a potential organ donor.
Thanks in advance for your support of 110,000 Americans waiting for organ transplants.

P.S. Please run, walk, donate an organ(!), time (volunteers are needed even at 2 am, ouch!) or money online or by check payable to Organs R Us, 570 El Camino Real, Suite 150-330, Redwood City, CA 94063. Please write (my team name) on the bottom of your check.
